Fri Aug 6, 2004 Firestone Ventures Commences Emerald Exploration Program
Firestone Ventures Inc. (FV:TSX.V) is pleased to announce the start of the 2004 emerald exploration field season in the Finlayson Lake area, Yukon Territory, Canada. Firestone Ventures has an option to earn a 60% interest in the Straw, Lion, Meg and Rusty properties from True North Gems Inc. The properties, consisting of 229 claims, which cover 4,786 hectares (11,828 acres) are situated within 7 km of the Regal Ridge emerald occurrence being explored by True North Gems.
This year's emerald exploration program will be managed by Mr. B. Wengzynowski, P. Eng., and President of Archer, Cathro & Associates (1981) Limited. Mr. Wengzynowski, the original discoverer of emeralds at Regal Ridge, is Firestone's Qualified Person for the project, as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
Firestone Ventures plans to spend approximately $50,000 from August 8 to 28th on intensive prospecting and sampling on its highest priority targets on the Straw-Lion property. An overview of last year's exploration results are available on the company's website at www.firestoneventures.com.

Last year we discovered favorable indicators of emerald mineralization, including large beryl crystals, quartz-tourmaline veins and coincident concentrations of beryllium and chromium in the soil and we are very excited to be at the stage where we can conduct intensive prospecting of a small area.
