Firestone Ventures Announces Appointment Of Director

| | VANCOUVER, June 2/CNW - Firestone Ventures Inc. (FV:TSX-VEN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Pamela Strand as Director. Ms. Strand is President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Shear Minerals Ltd. (www.shearminerals.com) based in Edmonton, Alberta. Originally educated at the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario, she has over 15 years experience in the exploration and mining industry.
Ms. Strand worked as a geologist and in management positions for government and several mining companies before founding Shear Minerals Ltd. in 1997 with a focus on diamond and gold exploration. Shear Minerals Ltd. is one of the largest holders of mineral rights in Northwest Territories and Nunavut and a major participant in Canadian diamond exploration. In addition to managing Shear, Ms. Strand also serves as director on several private companies and has devoted volunteer time to organizations such as NWT and Nunavut Chamber of Mines, and the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta. Ms. Strand is a member of both the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta and Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists & Geophysicists of the Northwest Territories.
Firestone Ventures will benefit in several areas from Ms. Strand's contribution. Her knowledge of the Canadian junior mining sector will be beneficial in assisting Firestone in developing strategies for corporate growth and development and in the evaluation of property acquisitions and creating expansion opportunities.
