Firestone Ventures Announces Management Changes

April 17, 2012 - Firestone Ventures Inc. ("Firestone") (FV:TSX-V; F5V:FSE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Pamela Strand, P.Geol., as President and CEO of the Company. Ms. Lori Walton served as President and CEO since 2003 and will remain as a Director and key consultant to the Company. The Board wishes to thank Ms. Walton for her service to the Company, and looks forward to her continued roles with the Company.

Ms. Walton stated "A number of key milestones have been completed recently including acquisition of the Guatemalan zinc-lead-silver district, strengthening the Company with two new advisors, building a strong in-country team with geological, corporate social responsibility and country management expertise, signing a community cooperation agreement and meeting with the new government in Guatemala. I believe the Company is well-positioned to take advantage of the projected tightening of zinc supply and an increase in zinc price. Accordingly I think this is an appropriate time for me to pass on the leadership of the Company to the new team in order to best advance the asset and promote shareholder growth. I look forward to my continued and new role with Firestone."

Firestone Ventures is a mineral exploration company focused on finding and developing zinc-lead-silver deposits in Guatemala, Central America. Firestone owns a core zinc deposit, Torlon Hill, in western Guatemala and has first mover status in accumulating a substantial land portfolio in a historical carbonate-hosted zinc-lead-silver belt extending for 250 km across Guatemala that has received scant modern exploration.
