Firestone Ventures Announces Key Appointment to Advisory Board

September 13, 2006 - Firestone Ventures Inc. (FV: TSX-V; F5V: FSE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kristian Ross as Advisor to the Company. Mr. Ross has extensive experience in management and financing of Canadian junior resource companies, from early stage exploration to feasibility, mine development and production stages.

Previously Mr. Ross was founder, Director, President and CEO of Erickson Gold Mining Corporation, a TSE listed company that operated two underground gold mines in northern British Columbia and Yukon Territory, Canada. Since then, Mr. Ross has targeted his exploration and mine development efforts on projects in western North America and Central America, including Guatemala, principally in the pursuit of base metals opportunities.

Most recently Mr. Ross was a founder, Director, President and CEO of Vancouver-based Redhawk Resources Inc. At Redhawk he was responsible for the acquisition and advancement of the ReMac zinc oxide/sulphide project in British Columbia, Canada and the Copper Creek copper-molybdenum project in Arizona, U.S.A. In June of this year he left Redhawk, having overseen the transition of its Copper Creek project from acquisition to development of the project's first independent Mineral Resource calculations and commencement of the detailed project development Scoping Study.

"Firestone's management, project and consulting teams are very dedicated and skilled professionals," Mr. Ross said. "Having spent considerable time involved with the Torlon high-grade zinc project prior to Firestone's acquisition of the property, I am pleased to be involved by joining the Firestone Ventures team and helping wherever I can be of assistance."

According to Firestone Ventures President Lori Walton, Mr. Ross's initial focus will be assisting the Company to advance the Torlon high-grade zinc project in Guatemala. In addition, he will be asked to provide input on current projects, project generation and corporate matters. "His experience and contacts in the mining community and with zinc oxide projects will be invaluable." Ms. Walton said. "In addition, his skills in bringing properties from the exploration to the development/mining stage will help drive Firestone's corporate development and expansion opportunities."

Firestone Ventures Inc. is a well-financed Canadian-based resource company with zinc, gold and uranium projects in Western Canada and Central America.
