Firestone Mobilizes Geology Field Crew to Sonora Gold Project, Yukon

June 7/2006 - Firestone Ventures Inc. (FV:TSX-V) is pleased to announce that the Phase One field program at the Company's Sonora gold-silver-copper property in Yukon, Canada is proceeding on schedule. The geophysical surveying is nearing completion and a geology field crew under the direction of All-Terrane Mineral Exploration Services of Whitehorse, Yukon has mobilized on to the property. The 2,016 hectare (4,980 acre) Sonora property is located within 25 kilometres of a seasonal access road and within 40 kilometres of Sherwood Copper's Minto copper-gold project, currently in development.

In addition, Yukon Energy is considering the development of the Carmacks-Stewart Transmission Project, which would enable the Minto project and others in the area to access surplus grid power rather than rely on diesel generation. A regional map showing Dawson Range mining district and Sonora is at www.firestoneventures.com.

"We are very pleased with this announcement regarding potential development of a new transmission line. Power infrastructure is of critical importance to mining projects. The Dawson Range area, which includes our Sonora property, is a rich mineral belt containing gold, copper, silver and molybdenum deposits including Minto, Carmacks Copper and Casino," says Lori Walton, President of Firestone Ventures. "Expansion of the hydroelectric grid would be a very positive development for the area."

The surface exploration program consists of detailed geological mapping, rock sampling, trench chip sampling and systematic soil sampling. Soil sampling at Sonora will be done at a 50-metre sample spacing across 25.3 kilometres of cut or flagged grid lines covering three major target areas.

The objective of Phase One exploration is to select drill targets for an Autumn, 2006 diamond drilling program currently planned at 11 holes totaling 1,800 metres.
