Firestone Ventures Intersects Additional High-Grade Zinc at Torlon Hill

May 9/2006 - Firestone Ventures Inc. (FV: TSX-V) is pleased to announce high-grade zinc results from an additional eight diamond drill holes from the Company's Torlon Hill (oxide) zinc project, western Guatemala, The latest results extend the intersections of high grade zinc mineralization over a distance of approximately 125 m which remains open along strike. The road-accessible Torlon Hill project is located 12 km northwest of the city of Huehuetenango, situated on the Pan-American Highway.

Highlights of the most recent results include:
• Hole TH06-14 intersected 46.7 m of 12.5% zinc including 24.0 m of 17.9% zinc.
• Hole TH06-13 intersected 51.8 m of 10.2% zinc including 15.5 m of 15.8% zinc.
• Hole TH06-12 intersected 24.4 m of 5.0 % zinc including 6.1 m of 11.7% zinc.

Hole TH06-7 intersected three zones of zinc mineralization; 4.6 m of 5.1% zinc, 14.6 m of 5.0% zinc, and 10.7 m of 7.2% zinc. Hole TH06-8, drilled at -60 degrees west, ended in mineralization; however, the hole terminated before reaching the serpentinite basement due to poor ground conditions. Hole TH06-8 intersected 13.7 meters of 5.0% zinc at the bottom of the hole. Hole TH06-9 intersected 13.8 m of 4.0% zinc. Hole TH06-10 intersected lower grade mineralization, including 13.8 m of 3.6% zinc. Hole TH06-11 contained no significant mineralization.

The drill program is now complete. A total of 22 holes, two more than originally planned, were drilled to depths ranging from 24.4 m to 120.4 m, totaling 1442 m. The drilling was closely-spaced, with most holes 15 m to 40 m apart. All holes except TH06-8 were drilled vertically through mineralized dolostone breccia and intersected serpentinite basement rock. Assay results from holes TH06-15 to 22 are pending.

Laboratory Analyses and Quality Control
Sample preparation was described in the News Release dated March 2, 2006. Following preparation, 200-250 grams of pulverized sample is shipped by air courier directly to ALS Chemex, North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada for analysis.

ALS Chemex is an ISO 9002 registered laboratory. Samples are subject to a 4-acid digestion and are analyzed for 27 elements by ICP-AES. Over limit zinc and lead analyses are further analyzed by atomic absorption methods. The upper limit for zinc is 30%. Samples which contain in excess of 30% zinc are re-analyzed using titration. This multi-stage analytical procedure, while more costly, ensures that an appropriate lab method is used to produce reliable data at each lead or zinc concentration level. It also offers repeat analyses to protect against gross analytical error. Industrial Standards are not being inserted by Firestone at this time. ALS Chemex and Firestone are both routinely inserting blank samples for quality control purposes. Selected coarse rejects from high grade samples will be re-analyzed at a later date by another laboratory as part of the compositing process to produce material for metallurgical testing.

Property Holdings
Firestone Ventures has an option to purchase a 100% interest in the 16-hectare (39.5 acres) Torlon Hill property from the property owners and has also acquired the surrounding 134-hectare (331.1 acres) Orbita exploration concession.

A map showing drill-hole locations is available at www.firestoneventures.com. Drill results from holes TH06-1 to TH06-6, including 33 m of 22% zinc in hole TH06-2, were previously announced (News Release March 29, 2006).
