Firestone Ventures Discovers New Zone on Alberta Sun Uranium Property

Firestone Ventures Inc. (FV: TSX-V) is pleased to announce that it has completed a two-day field program at the 95,000 acre Alberta Sun uranium property located 30 km south of Fort Macleod, Alberta, Canada. Highlights include in-situ radioactivity up to 1250 cps (counts per second), visible alteration, abundant hematite, and carbonaceous material within the sandstone and shale sequence.

Scintillometers that measure radioactivity were used for prospecting exposures of Cretaceous to Tertiary marine and non-marine sandstones of the Willow Creek Formation within the central and southern Alberta Sun claimblocks. Two areas separated by 40 km yielded similar results. The highest radioactivity was measured in hematitized and limonite-stained altered carbonaceous sandstone within the southern Alberta Sun claimblock. This new discovery verifies Firestone's geologic model and suggests potential for widespread uranium mineralization.

In the central Alberta Sun claimblock the highest radioactivity (up to 800 cps) was concentrated in an area of organic material abutting hematite-stained sandstone. A section of green shale registered 150 cps, while the rest of the sandstone unit registered background or slightly elevated radioactivity. Abundant hematite was evident throughout the sections and a layer of carbonaceous sandstone was observed in one zone. The fieldwork verified reports of anomalous radioactivity in the area described in Alberta Geological Survey Open-File 1994-8 (see press release March 4/05). A tuffaceous unit cuts the Willow Creek Formation 10 km west of the project area.

A total of eight rock samples will be sent to the Saskatchewan Research Council for analysis. The zones of anomalous radioactivity on the property were examined by Alberta Geological Survey government geologists who were on-site evaluating the southwest Alberta area for sandstone-hosted uranium potential.

"Alberta is a great energy-producing province, with its rich deposits of oil, gas, coal and oil sands. We are using innovative and creative geological thinking to add uranium to that list." says Lori Walton, President of Firestone Ventures. "This brief initial look at the property confirmed that there is definite potential for sandstone-hosted uranium. The access was excellent; in fact we drove to the zones of interest in our vehicles."

To examine field samples from the property, please visit us at the Calgary Resource Investment Conference on April 10-11th at the North American Gem Inc. (Booth # 323) in the Calgary Convention Centre (120 -- 9 th Avenue SE).
